I am beyond impressed with our little CX-5. We’ve driven it just over 1,000 miles since Thursday (to Detroit and back) and it hasn’t missed a beat.

It has 57,000 miles on it and we averaged 32 miles-per-gallon, even with the trunk loaded down with all of our stuff (four days away with a toddler requires quite a bit) and getting stuck in traffic several times.

I shall reward it this week with an oil change and tire rotation (both of which it is slightly overdue for since our trip).

If you’re in the market for a small SUV, you could certainly do a lot worse than the CX-5.

If your battery ever goes flat you have to wait an eternity for it to recharge on a jump. Got stranded at the airport for over an hour because one of my little minions left a dome light on...

Just put a new battery in it, actually. It got to where it was almost refusing to start.
